REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The Committee for Indonesian Economic Development Acceleration and Expansion (KP3EI) will set 15 priority projects in Master Plan for the Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesian Economic Development (MP3EI). Secretary of KP3EI, Lucky Eko Wuryanto, expects the implementation of 15 projects to have economic and strategic impacts.
"The question is whether the projects support the special economic zone (KEK) in the region?" Wuryanto said on Monday.
The 15 projects are expected to be the show case for other MP3EI projects. Wuryanto still studies the financing, whether it will be public private partnership (PPP), issuance of debt securities, or state budget.
Director for Public Private Partnership Development State Ministry for National Development Planning (Bappenas), Bastary Pandji Indra, said the 15 projects must portray the six economic corridors in MP3EI.
Economist at Indonesian Institute of Science (LIPI), Latif Adam, said the commitment of Responsible Parties for Partnership Project (PJPK) was the main factor of the project. PPP projects in the eastern part of Indonesia are relatively small. Economically, he said, transportation and energy must be prioritized.
