REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono held a cabinet meeting on Monday to discuss on unemployment and job opportunities, attended by Vice President Boediono and several ministers. On the opening speech, SBY asked the cabinet to maintain national economy by pushing the number of unemployment.

Unemployment can be tackled by economic mechanism, adding job opportunities by opening new factories, infrastructure projects, trades, and service. SBY suggested central and local governments to work together with worker federation. "Think about job security," he said on Monday.

The cabinet was also urged to think about creating more job opportunities. "More jobs must be available in couple years," he said.

He believes that the growing real sector as well as agriculture, industry, and service can improve the quality of life."We must trigger and develop this situation with economic mechanism to create more jobs," he said.
