REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian Government finally signs the plan of development (POD) for Tangguh’s third LNG train managed by British energy company British Petroleum Plc.

"The Head of SKSP Migas, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Jero Wacik, signed the POD train 3 yesterday," the Vice Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Rudi Rubiandini, said on Sunday.

The development is expected to add supply to domestic market. BP also guarantees that state income is secured. "It uses trust borrowing scheme (TBS)," he said.

BP will start developing train on early 2013. It hopes to begin its operations in late 2018 with an estimated production capacity of 3.8 mtpa.

Located in West Papua, Tangguh block already has two trains to turn gas into LNG. The LNG is exported to Fujian, China, and Japan.
