REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, ISLAMABAD - Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will send peacekeeping forces to stop violence and bloodshed in Syria. The grou members, namely Indonesia, Turkey, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Iran, Egypt, Pakistan, and Nigeria are ready to implement send peace keeping forces to Syria.
"Once they achieve the truce deal, we will send peace keeping forces," SBY said after D-8 Summit in Islamabad, Pakistan, on Thursday.
The countries spent almost five hours to discuss on how to stop violence continuing in Syria. SBY also had meetings with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Egyptian Vice President Mahmud Makki and discussed some options to resolve the deadlock in Middle East.
They agreed on three important points, including the urge to stop violence and bloodshed in Syria. Secondly, the leaders agree to send humanitarian aid for Syrian refugees. "Third, there must be transition of power towards new government," SBY said.
