REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MATARAM - Tourists will have better time enjoying scenery in Gili Trawangan, Lombok, as Local Government plans to build ring road in Gili Trawangan tourism object.

The Head of Tourism at Department of Tourism Transportation, Communication, and Informatics in North Lombok, Abdul Azis Abubakar, said on Thursday that seven kilometers ring road in Gili Trawangan would ease the tourists enjoying scenery while taking cidomo, traditional vehicle.

The road circling Gili Trawangan is currently a dirt road with dust thrown up reducing visibility. Local Government promises that the new road will not disturb authenticity of the tourism object.

"Instead of asphalt, the new ring road will be built using concrete. We will try not to use heavy equipment vehicle," local official said.

Local Government will maintain Gili Trawangan as vehicle-free tourism object. Thus, the island is not polluted. Until today, people transport in Gili Trawangan using bicycle and cidomo.
