Defense Minister of India arrives in Indonesia

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Defence Minister of India, A.K. Antony, arrived in Indonesia on Monday evening on a three-day visit for the first Biennial Dialogue at the level of Defence Ministers. According to a press release from Embassy of India in Jakarta, Antony will have bilateral meeting with his counterpart, Purnomo Yusgiantoro. 

The two sides will discuss bilateral cooperation in the defence sector and ways to further enhance such cooperation. The Report of the 3rd Joint Defence Cooperation Committee will also be presented during the meeting, outlining the possible areas of cooperation in the defence sector, particularly in the fields of education & training, operation and exercises, peacekeeping operation and counter-terrorism.

Antony is accompanied by a 10-member high-level delegation including the Defence Secretary. Preceding the Ministers’ Biennial Dialogue, the third Joint Defence Cooperation Committee meeting was held earlier today to explore cooperation in the defence sector between the two countries.
