REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LOMBOK - Deputy Chairman of ASEAN Supreme Institution (SAI), Hasan Bisri, encourages the strengthening cooperation among ASEAN parliaments on eradicating money laundering.

"We offer cooperation between AIPA and ASEAN SAI against money laundering," Bisri said on the sidelines of ASEAN Inter Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) on Tuesday at Senggigi of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

Bisri said, different standard of audit institutions in each member of ASEAN made the cooperation between ASEAN parliaments and SAI was even more important. In Indonesia, audit institutions such as Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) are independent, while in Malaysia, the audit institutions are under government's control.

He said that the cooperation between audit institutions and parliament could be in the form of state financial accountability agency as an additional measure for House. The agency proceeds BPK's report on manipulation of state finance.
