REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, GARUT - Several countries in Europe are interested in marketing Indonesia's instant Beras Liwet (Sundanese cooked rice) 1001 produced by Garut of West Java. But, the products need further adjustment to fit European taste. The Director of Beras Liwet 1001, Andris Wijaya, said such demand came from Kokita distributor in Indonesia. Kokita plans to sell the product to several countries in Europe.

"Several countries in Europe and also Singapore have ordered for Seribu Satu officially," he said.

But, before exporting the product, its  quality, taste, composition must be improved and the manual must be put  English in every package. Yet, speaking about capacity, Wijaya claimed that the company could fulfill domestic and international demand.

Beras Liwet 1001 produces 2,000 packages daily divided into 250 grams and 500 grams. Beras Liwet 1001, available in six flavors, ikan jambal, teri, squid, original, jengkol, and petai, is easy to serve. It is just needed to be cooked in rice cooker.
