PMI finally gets travel document from Myanmar

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, YANGON - Myanmar's government finally issued travel document for Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) on Wednesday to deliver the aid for Rohingya refugees in Rakhine, Myanmar. Muhammad Hafil from Republika reported that 

The team consisted of six people, planned to depart to Switte of Rakhine on Thursday morning. 

"We are also allowed to distribute the aid and enter the shelter of Rohingya and ethnic Rakhine," the Head of Disaster Management Division of PMI, Arifin M Hadi, said on Wednesday.

The volunteers and 500 kilograms of aid will fly to Switte using commercial plane, while the rest of the aid was shipped on Wednesday. The volunteers will be accompanied by members of Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS).

According to their plan, the aid will be distributed directly to the refugees. The volunteers will be in Switte until August 31.
