REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesia and South Korea today discuss comprehensive economic cooperation on Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). This initial meeting discussed on terms of reference and the scope of cooperation, according to the Director General of International Trade Cooperation in the Ministry of Trade, Imam Pambagyo.
"This is a first meeting so that it does not have specific target unless to build guiding principles, which will become the guidance on the discussion of cooperation," he said on Wednesday.
Earlier both countries have formed the joint working group for the cooperation. They also have consulted and promoted to the public. This comprehensive economic cooperation is expected to boost the two way trade volume around 50 billion USD in 2015.
Based on the data in the Ministry of Trade, the two-way trade volume reached 29.4 billion USD in 2011, with Indonesia enjoying a surplus of 3.4 billion USD. Along January-April 2012, it reached 9.8 billion USD.
