Nothing is special about spending the night in a governor’s official residence for a high rank official. But for a president? Hmmm… And President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) did it. 

SBY decided to save budget chose to spend the night at the official residence of the governor during his visit to Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, on Friday.

Many quarters praised his move which they considered very positive as a concrete act in budget saving and a show of respect to local people. "It is an honor for the people of West Nusa Tenggara for the President to be willing to spend the night at the governor`s residence," M Solihin, a Mataram community leader, said. 

The West Nusa Tenggara administration spokesman, Tri Budiprayitno, confirmed the President spend the night at the governor`s residence before proceeding to Dili on Saturday to attend the inauguration of Jose Maria de Vasdconcelos as the new president of Timor Leste.

SBY held a limited cabinet meeting at the hall at the governor`s residence to discuss implementation MP3EI development programs in the region which was also attended by regional administrative leaders.

And where did the governor stay that night during SBY visit? Well, as the President takes the main house for the night, the governor has to stay at the pavilion.
