Shinkansen for Jakarta-Bandung

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG – Japanese high speed train (Shinkansen) will soon be operated from Jakarta to Bandung. The project of this 300 km/hour train requires 56.1 trillion IDR.

“With Shinkansen, it only needs 45 minutes from Jakarta-Bandung,” West Java Local Secretary, Lex Laksamana, said after the seminar of Feasibility Study of the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Railway Project with the consultant team of Yachiyo Engineering Co Ltd and Japan International Consultant Co Ltd on Tuesday.

The seminar was the follow up of the pre-study provided by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Tourism (MLIT JAPAN), Laksamana added. The first plan of the network consists of 144 kilometers. The tariff will cost 150,000 IDR one way. The financing of the project is the cooperation between government and private company, while the location of the station in Bandung is in Gedebage.
