REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Indonesian export declined due to European and US economic crisis, as the crisis also impacted all other countries, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, said on Thursday.

“The first quarter of our economic performance shows the deceleration of export, according to the Central Board of Statistics (BPS),” SBY said on his opening speech on the plenary meeting.

Thus, he asked the Minister of Trade and other related ministers to work harder to maintain the export. “If the export declines and the growth stays in 6.5 percent, the government will spend,” he said.

Another problem is investment altough SBY also repeatedly saw many foreign and local investors interested in Indonesia. The amount of the investment could be bigger and could fill the gap of export policy.
