REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Chairman of the Central Board of National Mandate Party (PAN), Viva Yoga Mauladi, said Dahlan Iskan was more suitable to be an entrepreneur than a politician. “He suits to be a CEO, not a state leader,” Mauladi said on Thursday. The basic principles of state and company are similar, but both of them have different entity.
He also said that despite Iskan’s effort to build the image, Iskan had not yet to be a candidate of president. Every citizen, he said, had equal right in expressing themselves and they were also free to choose their own destiny. “But, will he wish or are there any political party that proposed him to be a presidential candidate on 2014?” he said.
Relatively, all parties already have their own candidate. PAN nominates its chairman, Hatta Rajasa. Golkar also propose its chairman, Aburizal Bakrie. Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) has Megawati. Gerindra has Prabowo. United Development Party (PPP) proposes Surya Dharma Ali, while National Awakening Party (PKB) has Muhaimin Iskandar.
“They surely become the priority of their party. Though, the opportunity to be a vice president candidate for Iskan is still open,” he said.
He said that Iskan seemed paddling to the ocean. The wave will hit him. “We will wait if Iskan can survive the political ocean,” he said.
