REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Indonesian contingent of Global March to Jerusalem come back to Indonesia with a pile of experiences. They were determined to continue fighting for Palestinian freedom in every possible way.
“Civilian act to end Zionist colonialism and oppression will not stop here. We will continue until Jerusalem and Palestine are free,” the Chairman of Presidium Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C), Jose Rizal Jurnalis, said on Wednesday.
While taking land route, the struggle of 81 Indonesian activists were far below the Palestine Muslim. Problems and challenges during the journey only to liven up their enthusiasm.
The spokesman of Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), Munarman, and Executive Director of Voice of Palestine (VOP) Indonesia, Mujtahid Hashem, could not enter Jordan due to blockage from Indonesian intelligence. But apparently after they clarified to Indonesian State Intelligence Agency, there were no record that they were banned. “Officially, the intelligence did not send any information,” he said.
The prejudice on the existence of certain parties in Indonesia cooperating with US or Zionism emerged. Munarman said Indonesia should hold anti-Zionist international conference and radicalism to tackle the move.
Hashem also expected a real action from Indonesia for Palestine. “We should make a regulation on banning the relationship with Israel,” he said. The regulation is in the form of political relationship, social, and economic blockage.
He said that the action was equal with the history between Indonesia and Palestine, as President Soekarno did in 1955. He invited mufti from Jerusalem Hajj al-Amin al-Hussein to Asian African Conference. He firmly did not invite Israeli representatives.
“But now, Indonesian government sees the relationship between Palestine and Israel as a never ending conflict. Indonesia should stand tall in the world to maintain its leadership,” he said.
The Chairman of Palestine Welfare House, Jomah an-Najar, came to Indonesia specifically for saying his gratitude over Indonesian support in GMJ. He also hopes that the aid cannot be distributed.
