Go! Go! Solo and Jakarta nominated for New 7 Wonders Cities

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Jakarta and Solo are recently nominated for New 7 Wonders cities for South East Asia and Oceania. Solo and Jakarta compete with 44 other cities in the regions to be the most favorite city in the world.

Solo is chosen because of its historical and cultural environment with the Javanese tradition and attraction. The initial assessment was conducted since January 7 to March 7 from 1,200 cities in 220 countries.

 

The number was then sorted to 300 best cities from each country. In this second stage, Solo and Jakarta represent Indonesia. The second stage will be conducted on March 7 until November 22 to pick 77 cities for the third stage.

The third stage will be held on November 23-December 6 to choose 28 best cities. Then, the last stage to find the best city from 20 nominations will be on December 7 when people on the world can vote. Recently, Solo sits in number eight while Jakarta is in number nine and followed by Singapore in 10. Last week, Solo was in number 11. Go! Go!
