Indonesian First Lady hospitalized

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Indonesian first lady, Ani Yudhoyono, has been hospitalized operated in Gatot Subroto Army Hospital since Thursday at 10.00 AM local time. She underwent a surgery on Friday morning.

The chief of presidential doctor team, Aris Wibudi, stated on Thursday that the First Lady was diagnosed to suffer gallbladder stone and inflammation of the gallbladder.

The surgery of her gallbladder in the hospital on Friday morning was completed on 09.40 at local time and considered as successful.

“Alhamdulillah (Praise the Lord –ed), the medical surgery went smoothly. The head of presidential doctor team will explain the process. Thank you for your attention and prayers,” the Presidential Spokesman Julian Aldrin Pasha said in his text.

The 59-year old First Lady was accompanied by her family, including the President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and her two sons, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono and Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono during the surgery.

The surgery took 60 minutes. “We are grateful to God, the Presidential team doctor stated the surgery went according to plan and without any problem,” Wibudi said on Friday. 

Ani Yudhoyono underwent the removal of gallbladder and its stones using Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy method. She is now in a good condition. Though, she needs to rest for one or two days. 

She is also suggested to be on certain diet. “Anyone who has undergone gallbladder removal should eat low fat food for two weeks,” Wibudi said.
