Three years to transform the ‘golden triangle’

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MAMUJU - Located in among three provinces, East Kalimantan, Central Sulawesi, and South Sulawesi, Belang-Belang Mamuju Port is the golden triangle in Indonesia. The port is an entrance to East Indonesian economic transaction from Java Island and Sumatra in the western part of Indonesia.

The Governor of West Sulawesi, Anwar Adnan Saleh, is optimistic about the potential of Belang-Belang Mamuju Port. He expects the development will transform the port into international one within three months. 

"The budget allocated for the project is 27 million USD that comes from Chinese investor," he said. The fund will be used to build container port in Mamuju region to support the activities of exporting and importing commodities in West Sulawesi Province.

The local government is expected providing facilities and infrastructures to support the port development. With 101 meters of pier length and 91x6 meters of trestle and facilitated with two warehouses, Belang-Belang Mamuju Harbor has the capacity of 10,000 tonnes of cargo.
