REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – An international organization, International Social Security Program (ISSP) is willing to help Indonesian workers in Saudi Arabia, the ISSP spokeman, M Anies Hasan, says on Wednesday (22/2). Its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by ISSP with the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration.

The MoU does not revoke the moratorium on the sending of Indonesian worker to Saudi Arabia immediately.  “The moratorium will be lifted after both Saudi Arabia and Indonesia sign the MoU. It will be less than three months,” Hasan said after the signing of MoU. It means that Indonesian workers can register to work in Saudi Arabia in the next three months.

When a problem occurs, Indonesian worker could come to ISSP office in Riyadh, Jeddah, Madina, and Dammam. The office of ISSP opens for 24 hour. The fee in the amount of 750 riyal will be burdened to their employers. All employers in Saudi Arabia will be filed in online to guarantee the workers’ safety.

Should they find Indonesian migrant workers have problems, ISSP would conform to Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration, and National Agency for Placement and Protection of Indonesian Workers (BNP2TKI). Hassan added, if Indonesian workers was entangled with law case while they already gone home, the problems would be solved by ISSP. The Head of BNP2TKI, Jumhur Hidayat, said, if the employers breeched the work contract, he or she would be blacklisted and not allowed to employ Indonesian workers in the future.
