REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOGOR - The last users of train are already at home. The doors of the station are shut. Some of the lamps are switched off. There is only several officers in the station. One of them is Simo (38 years), a train cleaner in Bogor Station.

Simo is in duty to clean the railway coach in the eighth lane, the last lane in train stop. Getting to this lane is not easy as Simo should jump over the number of trains. Every railway coach is cleaned by a team of three members.

In his team, Simo works with Eman and Indra. They have their own duty. Simo and Indra brush the train while Eman spraying the water. The teamwork makes it easier. The cleansing of one railway coach can be done in two hours. They usually start at 23.30 and finish at 01.30.

They clean every sides of train, the inner and the outer. They brush every inch of it with soap. The floor is mopped. Windows and benches are wiped.

Simo have no holiday for he does not have any replacement. If one of them does not work, the rest should work alone. Simo prefers to work so that his wife and his two children can eat. He should also pay the education fee for his last child.

His first son dropped the school. Shortage of money makes him harder to pay the education fee for his first son. As a train cleaner, he only gets 18,000 IDR a day. Simo said his income does not enough to pay his family necessity. "But I feel happy because I am useful for others," he said. So simple!
