Dear fashionistas, get ready for ‘Colorful Indonesia’!

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID,  JAKARTA – The most anticipating event for fashionistas in Indonesia finally come to town. It is Indonesia Fashion Week (IFW) that will be held for the first time here, in Jakarta Convention Center from 23-26 February.

IFW is designed not only for fashion show, but also for the development of fashion industry in Indonesia. The Chief of IFW, Dina Midiani, said, 200 designers would join the show. “There will be two center stages in JCC,” she said.

In main stage, four themes of fashion will be presented each day. On first day, they offer “international-caliber” Indonesian designers. Second day will be special for Muslim fashion runway. Then in the third and fourth day, they will present ethnic and culture contemporary.

The designers participated in the show are organized in APPMI, IPMI, independent, distribution store, and also the designer who sell their products at Brightspot Market, Level One Grand Indonesia. Dina added, some fashion contests, seminars, and workshops would be parts of the event.

For the debut in 2012, IFW presents “Colorful Indonesia” theme.  Traditional clothes known as sarong hopefully will be a global trend following batik. Get ready, fashionistas!
