REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Afriani Susanti (29 year old) was having alcohol and drugs party before she involved in a deadly accident that killed nine people on Sunday. Director of Narcotics and Drugs Directorate in Metro jaya Police, Nugroho Aji, said the reckless driver drank alcohol and used metaphetamin before speeding at about 100 kilometer per hour then hit some innocent pedestrians in Ridwan Rais Street, Jakarta.
"The driver and three passangers in the minivan are positively having metaphetamin," Aji said on Moday.
Aji suspected, Susanti was still under the influence of drugs and alcohol she consumed when the accident occured. Aji refuted that Susanti used other type of drugs, such as shabu-shabu and cannabis.
"No shabu-shabu nor cannabis. They are the suspects of narcotics and drugs case, but as users. We have not found other hard evidence such as shabu or any other type of drugs," Aji exlpained.
Yet, his explanation is conflicting with the earlier statement made by another police officer, chief of public relation officer at Metro Jaya Police, Rikhwanto (one name -ed). He cited, "The urine tests produced positive result that Susanti and her friends used drugs, possibly shabu-shabu. Cannabis is another possibility."
Eight of nine victims died instantly in the accident cite. The other victim passed away after treated in the hospital. If Susanti convicted guilty, judge will sentence her with maximum punishment of six year serving in prison.
