Jokowi to hold bilateral meetings, other summit activities

President Jokowi is scheduled to attend the ASEAN Summit with partner countries.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SINGAPORE -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), on the second day of a working visit to Singapore, will hold various bilateral meetings and attend several ASEAN summits with partner countries. On Wednesday, he is scheduled to attend the ASEAN Summit with partner countries: the 21st ASEAN-China Summit, 20th ASEAN-South Korea Summit, 3rd ASEAN-Russia Summit, 21st ASEAN-Japan Summit, 2nd RCEP Summit, and the 6th ASEAN-US Summit at the Suntec Convention Center, Singapore.

The meeting was part of another series of conferences after the 33rd ASEAN Summit held on Tuesday night. In addition, Jokowi held bilateral meetings with several heads of state and government, including Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Chilean President Sebastian Pinera, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Earlier on Tuesday, President Jokowi and First Lady Iriana had attended the opening of the 33rd ASEAN Summit. In addition, the president attended an official ASEAN dinner hosted by Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

Furthermore, the former DKI Jakarta governor addressed a plenary meeting of the 33rd ASEAN Summit to raise the importance of ASEAN togetherness in helping to overcome the Rohingya crisis in Rakhine State and develop the concept of cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.

The head of state will be in Singapore until Thursday (Nov 15).
