Jokowi invites leaders of supporting parties to Bogor Palace

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOGOR -- Incumbent President Joko Widodo met with leaders of support parties at Bogor Palace on Monday (July 23) night. It was a closed-door meeting.

Deputy Secretary-General of National Awakening Party (PKB) Jazuli Fawaid confirmed the meeting. However, he did not know whether the politicians talked about Jokowi's running mate.

He said it was just a casual discussion between Jokowi and supporting parties. "They had dinner and casual talks," Jazuli said when confirmed by Republika.co.id, on Monday.

According to Jazuli, Chairperson of Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri, Chairman of PKB Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak imin), Chariman of Nasdem Party Surya Paloh, Chariman of Hanura Oesman Sapta Odang (Oso), and Chairman of PPP Romahurmuzy (Rommy) were invited to the meeting.

Meanwhile, a number of 212 Alumni Brotherhood (PA 212) figures and several politicians gathered at Sultan Hotel, Jakarta, on Monday (July 23) night. National Mandate Party (PAN) Honorary Council Chairman Amien Rais and Gerindra Party General Chairman Prabowo Subianto were seen to attend the meeting.

Amien who came with Secretary-General PAN Eddy Suparno explained it was a brainstorming session. Therefore, the meeting would not generate final conclusion. "It was an open ended meeting," he said before the meeting.

After the meeting, Prabowo left the hotel without answering to the reporters' questions. The former commander of the TNI special forces only smiled and waved his hands while rushing to his car at around 21.09 Western Indonesia Standard Time.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of Gerindra Party Sugiono also remained silent. He did not say a word about the result of the meeting.
