REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Fahri Hamzah, the deputy chairman of House of Representatives, has filed a police report against Prosperous Justice Party chairman Sohibul Iman on Thursday (March 8). He hoped the case will be processed immediately in order to solve the problem.
"I suspect he has commited a crime related to slander and defamation. The police have received the evidences of documents, video, flashdisc and others," he said on Thursday.
Fahri explained Sohibul has accused him of lying and rebelling. However, Sohibul refused to comment on Fahri's report. "I think there is nothing that should be responded," Sohibul said.
According to Fahri, he has tried another way through civil action to solve the conflict but Sohibul did not respond to it. He felt as if Sohibul urged him to do so. "This is for the sake of the party," he remarked.
Fahri was fired by PKS as he was accused to have violated the party's code of ethics. He fought back with filing a lawsuit on November 14, 2016. The South Jakarta District Court granted his motion related to his illegal dismissal from the party. The court ordered PKS to pay Rp30 billion to Fahri. He also won an appeal in higher court.
Meanwhile, Former House of Representatives (DPR) speaker, Setya Novanto said the problem should be better solved by deliberation. Neverthless, he said the problem between Fahri and Sohibul is one of reasonable things in politics. However, Setya deplored that the internal affairs in PKS to not be solved through discussion and togetherness.
"I don't really know about internal affairs in PKS, but I know Fahri is a figure who wants everything clear and in accordance with his honesty values," said Novanto on Thursday.
