Earlier, Head of Public Relations and Protocol Directorate General of PAS of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights Ade Kusmanto said the Director General of Disposal (PAS) has approved the application of treatment cleric Abu Bakar Ba'asyir to the National General Hospital Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo (RSCM).

"The referral of cleric Abu Bakar Ba'asyir to RSCM is approved by the Director General of PAS and its implementation will be coordinated with BNPT and Densus 88," said Ade Kusmanto, Wednesday.

Based on the results of medical examination, cleric Ba'asyir diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, abnormalities in the veins. "And follow-up treatment can be implemented at RSCM in coordination with BNPT and Densus 88," he said.

On August 10, 2017, cleric Ba'asyir was rushed to the Harapan Kita hospital for swelling in the legs. This condition has been suffered by the leader of Jamaah Anshorut Tauhid (JAT) for the past three years.

The disease made cleric Ba'asyir unable to take care of himself independently in his isolation cell. "His intra venous is not strong enough to pump blood up and it causes swollen feet," Presidium of MER-C, Doctor Jose Rizal Jurnalis, said.

On August 17, 2017, the Justice and Human Rights Ministry has granted three months remission to cleric Ba'asyir. He still has to serve his prison term until June 21, 2024, at the Gunung Sindur penitentiary in Bogor.
