REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesia's Ombudsman Commissioner Adrianus Meliala stated Corruption Eradication Investigator (KPK) senior investigator was not cooperative when being examined by police's investigators on the case of acid attack that made him victim. He assessed the police have been serious in handling the case.

"According to the police, it seems Mr Novel does not talk too much. In answering questions, he always says it will be handed over to Joint Fact Finding Team (TGPF). So, I get the impression that he's not cooperative," Adrianus said after meeting with Jakarta Metro Police chief Idham Azis on Tuesday (Feb 13).

Adrianus said the police interrogation report (BAP) was so thin. It was only two to three pages. "Two weeks ago, we examined investigators of Novel's case. We received BAP, but it was very thin. It was only two to three pages. There's no such BAP like that. Moreover, Novel is the victim. As victim he surely will talk in detail to get the case solved," he explained.

KPK also did not cooperative, Adrianus said. KPK should also give informations to the investigators.

The police admitted they have deployed 160 investigators who work 24 hours for the case. The police said Novel did not trust their performance. "How can the police solve the case if not given input," Adrianus remarked.
