REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Senior investigator of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is scheduled to undergo left eye surgery as the membrane growth was slowing.
"Novel will undergo surgery to add membrane to his left eye, or re-planting the part of his gum to his left eye in Singapore," KPK spokesperson Febri Diansyah said on Wednesday (December 6).
According to Febri, the second stage of surgery on Novel's left eye was hindered by the condition. The second stage of surgery can only be done if the eye membrane fully recover.
"So the doctor repair gum which was planted on Novel's left eye this afternoon," Febri added.

Novel was attacked in April, when unidentified men threw strong acid on his face and injuring face and eyes.
In an interview with Time, he claimed had received information that a police general or a high-level police official was involved in the attack on him.
As one of the KPK's top investigator, Novel has led investigations into several high-profile cases. Including the ongoing e-ID embezzlement case that has implicated several lawmakers and high-ranking government officials.
