REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- National Police Spokesman Brig. Gen. Rikwanto, said, President Joko Widodo has summon National Police chief Gen. Tito Karnavian to discuss about the progress of investigation on Novel Baswedan's acid attack case. Rikwanto said, the meeting will be held this week.
"President will ask again to National Police chief how far the progress of Novel's attack case investigation and possibly the meeting will be held this week," Rikwanto said on Monday (Nov. 6).
Rikwanto explained, President may also discuss about the discourse of forming a fact-finding team (TGPF) to support the disclosure of the case of an attack to senior investigator of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

"For National Police, TGPF is not necessary," he added.
Rikwanto admitted National Police currently has not found yet the suspects. He said, police would also not assume in determining the suspects, thus the investigation may take a long time.
"Don't assume if the suspect is in town A, but why they are not immediately arrested? It's because we still don't know yet the suspects," Rikwanto said.
Novel was attacked by two unidentified assailants who splashed acid onto his face and eyes in April. The attack happened early morning on April 11, after he performed a morning prayers in a mosque near his house in North Jakarta.
In an interview with Time, Novel claimed that he had received information on alleged involvement of a police general or a high-level police official in the incident.
As one of the KPK's top investigator, he has led investigations into several high-profile cases, including the ongoing e-ID embezzlement case that has implicated several lawmakers and high-ranking government officials.
Novel is currently still undergoing his medical treatment in Singapore. His eyes were seriously damaged and he had underwent surgery for several times.
