REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Investigator of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Novel Baswedan opened himself in an interview with Time. He talked about the progress of the investigation of toxic liquid attack.

During the interview, Novel said he got an information that there was a police general involved in the case. He was not sure with the information validity. But, endless investigation seems to show no result. It made him think twice about the information.

Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives Desmond J. Mahesa said Novel's statement showed that there was no legal certainty from the police about the case. Jakarta Metro Police could not be able to show positive result.

“Novel is seeking for justice. It is normal that he expected a legal certainty. For the victim, this is an extraordinary expectation,” said Desmond in Jakarta on Wednesday (June 12).

The Gerindra politician said it was normal for the civil society to request a special team for handling the case because until now Jakarta Metro Police could not reveal. People would give support and appreciation when the police could complete it.

As a member of Commission III, Desmond expected that complain would be followed up by law enforcers. National Police should be responsive to any complain.
