West Java Police hold the 3rd case screening in Habib Rizieq's case

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- West Java Police investigators held the third case screening in the case of alleged defamation of Pancasila with the grand imam of Islamic Defenders Front, Habib Rizieq Shihab, as the examinee witness. The case screening was held on Monday (30/1) at 10.00 WIB.

"The third case was on going now. It was beginning at 10:00 am," said the Head of West Java Police spokesman Sr. Yusri Yunus to Republika.co.id on Monday.

Yusri said the third hearing was held to determine whether the case meet the criminal element. If it met the allegations of desecration to Pancasila, the status would be raised to be investigation.

The improvement of the status would be continued by the establishment of the examinee witness as a suspect. He claimed not to present the results of the hearing because it was still ongoing. "The results would be reported after the case screening was completed," he said.

Yusri added, the police have examine dozens of witnesses and expert witnesses. The expert witness  included linguists, expert on criminal case and the experts on information and technology. "There were two articles violated, namely the Article 154 about the desecration of and Article 320 on defamation," he said.
