Palu prepares for total solar eclipse

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Palu, a city on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, is preparing for solar eclipse. The rare phenomena will be total and will be visible from Palu on March 9, 2016.

"We are preparing all facilities to welcome solar eclipse," Secretary of Tourism Department at Central Sulawesi, Bambang Nugeraha, said on Tuesday, December 16, during national seminar on Discover Indonesia's Solar Eclipse 2016.

Nugeraha said that many foreign tourists had booked hotels in Palu. Tourists from US top the list by booking 230 rooms, followed by UK with 75 rooms and Japan with 55 rooms.
