Bau Nyale Festival attracts tourist to Mandalika

Bau Nyale Festival is the legend of Lombok people.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CENTRAL LOMBOK -- Bau Nyale Festival in Special Economic Zone (KEK) Mandalika, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara has became one of the main tourism agendas in Indonesia. It was held on Tuesday (March 6) and ended on Wednesday (March 7) morning. 

Bau Nyale or or sea worm-catching is famous for its uniqueness. "This is the legend of Lombok people, especially in the Southern," Tourism Marketing Development Ministry of Tourism deputy, Esthy Reko Astuti in Sager Beach, on Tuesday (March 6).

In addition, Bale Nyale was held in Special Economic Zone (KEK) Mandalika, which became one of the priority areas from central government. According to Esthy, Ministry of Tourism give full attention to Bau Nyale Festival. Not only prepare a number of equipments for the event, the ministry also promotes the event to attract more tourists.

"We also assist this event to be more professional," Esthy said.

Esthy said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has said that every event should be packed professionally. Therefore, on Bau Nyale Festival which predicted to attract many tourist both from domestic and abroad, preparation will be conducted well.

Bau Nyale Festival also become West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Government effort to bring 4 million tourists in 2018, Esthy remarked.
