REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) in Jiddah, Saudi Arabia, is promoting the Balinese culture as one of its tourist attractions through the "Bali Night Event" being held from April-end to May 7, 2016.

"This effort is aimed at continuing to raise awareness in the Saudi Arabian society to visit Indonesia," Head of ITPC of Jiddah Gunawan stated in a press release received here on Friday.

Gunawan noted that the event will be held for over a week at the Park Hyatt Hotel, Jiddah Marina, Club and Spa, in Jeddah, the major port city of Saudi Arabia. Bali was showcased from an Islamic perspective, with a blend of symbols depicting both Balinese culture and the Islamic Middle East.

According to Gunawan, the Bali Night Event was aimed at promoting famous tourist destinations in Indonesia, beauty products, traditional clothing, food and beverages, coffee and tea products, and other Indonesian quality products.

"Indonesia's promotion will be continuous and gradual," he added.

Gunawan stated that the guests invited at the event were mostly partners of the ITPC of Jiddah comprising Saudi Arabian businessmen. During the event, they expressed interest to discuss various potential aspects related to Indonesia's products and services being exported to Saudi Arabia. The discussions were held at the ITPC office in Jeddah.

The event also featured typical Balinese music, while students of the Indonesia School of Jeddah, wearing relatively additional garments, performed Pendet, a Balinese traditional dance. The room was decorated in typical Balinese black and white cloth to lend an impression of Bali.

The Bali Night Event was inaugurated by representatives of the Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah and was held in cooperation with the ITPC in Jiddah, Executive of Economic Function of Indonesia Consulate General in Jeddah, Park Hyatt Hotel, Jeddah Marina, Club and Spa, as well as Batavia Restaurant, which served authentic Indonesian dishes.
