REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Ministry of Tourism prepares a special strategy to attract Japanese tourists. Besides strengthening the promotion in online media, social media, and conventional media, Tourism Ministry was also targeting the promotion to Japanese companies  that provide incentives to its employees.

Assistant Deputy of Asia Pacific Market Development of Tourism Ministry, Vinsensius Jemadu, said every year many companies in Japan give incentives to their employees in the form of holiday to foreign countries.

"Every company has season for the incentives, that's what we're trying to catch," said Vinsensius, when talking with Republika.co.id, some time ago.

He revealed, there was a Japanese health food company that would provide incentives to its 10 thousand employees next year. Vinsen said, he had met the tour operator who will handle the trip and offered to make Indonesia, particularly Bali, as a choice of destination.

"I've a presentation in September and we compete against three other destinations, Hawaii, Bangkok and Malaysia," Vinsen explained.

With full support from the government, Vinsen said, he provided an incentive in the form of facilitation to eight representatives of tour operator and company to do a site inspection (observation) to Bali.

"Thus after several weeks, it eventually left two options, Hawaii and Bali. And it seems Bali is the favorite," he added.
