East Java now beefs up the restoration of coral reefs to attract more tourists. Inspired by Wakatobi National Park, Kapajang Islands (abbreviation of Kangean, Paleat, and Sepanjang Islands) in Sumenep, Madura will be transformed into Coral Reefs Marine Park.

"Kapajang is expected to finish on 2016," the Head of Marine, Coast, and Surveillance in East Java, Erjono, said, on Wednesday. The upcoming international Atlantic Challenge can hopefully promote Kapajang to foreign tourists.

Moreover, Kapajang is only three hours trip from Bali. One of the main challenges is the access of transportation. The fastest transportation is jet foil from Kalianget Port.

"It operates only three times a week on bright weather," he said.

Other challenges are food, hotel, and guide. But, he will cooperate with other parties, such as Indonesian Navy, Water Police, and reef watchers. Cannot wait to visit!
