REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Panel judges at State Administrative Court (PTUN) decided to reject lawsuit that filed by former Muslim group Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) that was disband by the government. Therefore, decision letter from Ministry of Law and Human Rights No AHU-30.AHA.01.08.2017 on revocation of HTI legal entity status remains valid.
In the principal matter, we reject lawsuit and the plaintiff must pay court fee Rp 450 thousand, said panel judges chief Tri Cahya Indra Permana on Monday (May 7).
Ministry of Law and Human Rights disbanded HTI since July 2017. HTI the challenged the revocation of its legal entity status.
According to HTI's lawyer, lawsuit petitum was related to two things. First, the group asked PTUN to postpone the enactment of the government's decision and second, to cancel that verdict.
The government believed HTI contravenes the Pancasila state ideology as it promotes the Islamic caliphate. By issuing Lieu of Law (Perppu) No. 2/2017, the government gave the authority to the Law and Human Rights Ministry to disband all mass organizations regarded as contravening Pancasila without due process of law.
