REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The House of Representative (DPR) approved Lieu of Law (Perppu) No. 2/2017 on Mass Organizations (Ormas) into law. The plenary meeting to pass Perppu Ormas was running very tough and bombarded by many interruptions from the opposing faction.

"Afer considering the number of notes that was submitted by the existing factions, the plenary session approved Perppu No. 2/2017 into law," said House Deputy Chairman, Fadli Zon on Tuesday (October  24).

Fadli asked all the participants in plenary meeting, whether to approve Perppu No.2/2017 to pass into law. Majority of House members agreed and then he knocked the hammer as the sign that Perppu became official law.

For the decision, Perppu No.2/2017 was done through the voting mechanism of the most members through fractions. This was after the plenary session of the House could not make a decision by consensus, even the lobbies had been carried out between factions during the meeting break.

Fadli revealed, based on he attendance of 445 members of the House of Representatives, as many as 314 members agreed the Perppu Ormas passed into law. Meanwhile, about 131 members refused it.

"Well we have got the results here that of the members who attended 314 agreed with the Perppu, and 131 members disagreed with a total of 445 members who were present and enrolled," he added.

The composition of the fraction map against Perppu on Mass Organizations was still like the mini-faction view in the previous Commission II of the House, which was seven to three. 

The seven factions approve and supported it into law, meanwhile three factions refused it.

Government support parties such as PDI-P, Golkar, Nasdem, and Hanura were still solid to support the Perppu to be passed into law. 

Meanwhile, PKB, PPP and the Democratic Party accepted and supported it with some notes. 

However, there were three factions who refused, namely Gerindra Party, PKS and PAN.
