Djarot unaware of D Island building rights certificate issuance

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat said he did not know the building rights (HGB) certificate for D Island of Jakarta Bay reclamation has been issued by the North Jakarta's State Land Agency.

"As far as I know, it was land management rights (HPL) on behalf of Jakarta provincial government. I have not receive the building rights certificate," he said at City Hall, on Monday.

Djarot said he would discuss the issuance of building rights certificate for D Island with related parties, especially central government.

"We will see. We will consult to Maritime Affairs Coordinating Ministry and Ministry of Environment," he remarked.

The photo of building rights certificate for D Island was widely spread in the social media. The certificate was given to PT Kapuk Naga Indah as developer of the reclamation island. The certificate that was signed by Head of North Jakarta's State Land Agency, Kasten Situmorang, issued without any expire date. 

Republika.co.id has been trying to contact Situmorang for confirmation but he did not response.

On Sunday (August 20), Djarot said he would prioritize the construction of docks and apartments for fishermen on C and D Islands soon after President Joko Widodo gave the land management certificate. According to Djarot, the land management certificate is already on behalf of Jakarta provincial government.
