REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- National Mandate Party (PAN) Honorary Council member Drajad Hari Wibowo said the statement of Nasdem Party politician, Viktor Laiskodat, during his visit to Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara has strengthen the signal that the Regulation in Lieu of Law (Perppu) on mass organizations (Ormas) No.2 of 2017 on Mass Organizations is indeed Islamophobia nuanced.

Viktor said political parties namely Gerindra, PAN, Democrat, and Prosperous Justice Party as supporters of Islamic extremist group in Indonesia. He assessed the four parties agree with the idea of upholding Caliphate in Indonesia.

"The fear of Perppu issuance was actually only to suppress Islamic organizations, especially Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia, escalates after hearing Viktor statement," Drajad said in a press release received by Republika.co.id, on Friday (August 4).

Drajad said Viktor who is politician from coalition party of the ruling government, has given negative conotation to the opposition parties. Viktor labelled the parties disagree with the Perppu as supporter of Caliphate.

He hoped the Viktor's statement was not a sign of broken tolerance among religious believers in Indonesia.

Dradjad said the Nasdem Party chairman should punish Viktor with a firm sanction. "Victor's statement could make Nasdem branded as an anti-Islamic political party," he reiterated.

Meanwhile, Deput Secretary General of Democrat party Rachland Nashidik said the fear of Perppu issuance would open the pandora box of political persecution has been proved.

He believed Perppu Ormas tended to the practice of political otoritarianism. It has legitimized the state refusal to comply with due process of law in the dissolution of mass organizations.

"In our opinion, this is a serious threat for the sake of democration," Rachland said.

Rachland concluded, Viktor's statement was a persecution against political parties. Viktor's statement was aimed at hindering the victim to fully and freely participate in political activities. "It was based on hatred because of differences in political views," he said in a press release received by Republika.co.id, on Friday.

"He said, four political parties must be wiped out from East Nusa Tenggara just as Indonesian Communist party. He said the rejection of four parties against Perppu Ormas can be seen as intolerant and anti-Pancasila," Rachland said.
