REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Coordinator Minister on Politics, Law and Security Wiranto condemned the suicide bombing in Kampung Melayu, East Jakarta on Wednesday (May 24). He said it was similar to the bombing in Manchester.
“The bombing in Manchester, England and Kampung Melayu was different in assailants but it had similar character," said Wiranto in Tangerang on Thursday (May 25).
Firstly, it aimed at showing their existence. Secondly, to make as many as victims and threated the national security.
The blast at Kampung Melayu occured in the bus station. The police were stationed at the bus station to guard parade of welcoming Ramadhan held by communities around Kampung Melayu.

The bomb attack killed five people comprising three police officers and two suicide bombers. Eleven people including five police officers, two female university students, and drivers of public vehicles were injured.
Meanwhile, the deadly terror attack at Manchester happened during US singer Ariana Grande's pop concert at the Manchester Arena, United Kingdom.
The attack left 22 dead, including children, and injured 59 others.
