The defendant of alleged religious blasphemy case, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok), gave a statement to the reporters after the ninth session of the trial on Tuesday (Feb 7). Today, there will be four witnesses presented at the trial.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Coordinator of Advocation Team of the National Movement to Safeguard the Indonesian Council of Ulama's Fatwa (GNPF MUI) Nasrulloh Nasution said he will give strong additional evidence showing that Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) had intentionally insult Islam and Alquran. Ahok was the defendant of alleged religious blasphemy case.

The evidence was in the form of a compilation of  videos other than the speech in Seribu Island. "We will prove to the judges that the defendant remark on Al Maidah verse 51 is intentional and he insults Islam continuesly. For him, the trial was only like the wind that passes by," said Nasrulloh to Republika.co.id on Sunday.

He asked the judges to understand Ahok's attitude after the new evidence was shown. He said there was no deterent effect. Previously, a video of Ahok saying that the 212 rally demonstrants were paid 500 thousand rupiahs of each was also presented in the trial. In fact, at the moment Ahok had been a suspect.

Nasrulloh said Ahok repeated his action when he became a defendant. He also claimed to watch a video where Ahok made surah al-Maidah as mockery, as a password to enter mosques. "Ahok said later all mosques would use password with the username al-Maidah, the password is kafir," he said.

Recently, Nasrulloh said a video was spread due to Ahok's speech during the handover of Jakarta governor status on Saturday (Feb 11). Ahok said to the public service staff not to vote leaders based on their religion.

According to Ahok, voting leaders based on religions means violating the Constitution. "For us, Ahok's speech showed his intention. Ahok indeed intentionally insult religion," said Nasrulloh.

As planned, the additional evidence would be presented to the Central Jakarta District Court as condideration for the 10th trial. Nasrulloh insisted it was very important, because it would prove the indictments. So, the indictment of Article 156a of the Criminal Code was right and Ahok could be charged with more than five years of imprisonment.
