REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Coordinator Trial from the Advocacy Team of the National Movement to Safeguard the Indonesian Council of Ulama's Fatwa (GNPF MUI), Nasrulloh Nasution, argued that the hearing of Ahok’s case yesterday strengthen the indictments. It was showed by the judges’ attitudes, the complainant’s testimony and the facts.

He said, the judges, for several times, rejected the legal advisors of the defendant to present verbal and oral witnesses from Padangsidempuan Police and Central Sulawesi Police in the court. The request was delivered during the examination of complainant witnesses, Muhammad Asroi Saputra and Irman Sudirman on Tuesday (24/1). In his opinion, the rejection was a major blow to Ahok and his legal advisors.

"Previously, the judges also rejected a request of the legal advisors who objected to the examination of Lurah Panggang of Seribu Island, Yuliardi, as a witness," said him to Republika.co.id on Wednesday.

He argued that the judge's decision to reject the request of Ahok’s lawyers was proper. In fact, he said, it was proven that the complainant’s testimony mentioned in the dossier was appropriate to what is stated in the trial. Therefore, the judges saw no need to present the investigator who examined the complainant witness.

He added, in the trial, indeed, both witnesses got several questions from Ahok’s legal advisor. The team said there were many differences between the police report (LP) and the BAP. "However, such differences have been clarified by the witnesses at the trial, and thus no longer need to present oral and verbal witnesses," he said.
