According to Jokowi a large number of Chinese visited Indonesia not for working nor became illegal worker. So far, he recorded some 21 thousand people from Chinese worked in Indonesia.

In contrary, Indonesia is aiming at Chinese tourists. The government are trying to attract 10 million tourist from China. "United States of America and European Union also try to get more Chinese tourist to the countries," he reiterated in Karawang, West Java, on Friday.

Meanwhile, according to Labor Minister Hanif Dhakiri, during 2016 there were problems with 673 foreign workers. Mostly (587 people) were illegal workers. The rest was having trouble with permit violations. "They came from China, Japan, South Korea, India, and others," he said.
