REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SUKABUMI -- Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Sukabumi, West Java, would receive aid of early warning system of landslides. The tools would be installed at three locations that were prone to landslides in Sukabumi.

"The application for assistance has been approved by the central government ," said Head of Prevention and Preparedness Department of BPBD Sukabumi, Irwan Fajar to Republika.co.id, Sunday (8/11).

BPBD was now waiting for the realization and installation of the tools of early warning system. Sukabumi has prone areas of landslides that often cause casualties.

"47 districts in Sukabumi are disaster-prone areas," he added.

There were three categories of disaster-prone areas, namely high, medium and low. So that Sukabumi needed early warning tools to landslides to avoid casualties due to landslides.

"There are 11 villages of 33 villages that are prone to landslides," he explained.
