REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Commission IX Chairman of the House of Representatives (DPR) Yusuf Macan Effendi or Dede Yusuf offered a solution to the chaotic old-age assurance program (JHT) of Worker's Social Security Agency (BPJS TK).

"During the transitional period, while socializing the new rules, the old regulations are applied first. At least for the next year, "he said, on Friday, July 3.

During this year, BPJS TK could return to the old rules, namely Law Number 3 of 1992 on Worker's Social Security (Jamsostek).

Furthermore, it elaborated in Government Regulation (PP) Number 1 of 2009 that JHT benefits could be availed after reaching 56 years old or passed away or workers affected by layoffs (PHK). The condition, membership period of five years and one month waiting period.

"But it requires a presidential permit. Because it depends on the president's decision, "he said.

Other options, he said, the president could also consider PP and change its contents. Another option was to change the law. But the process could be long because they have to apply for judicial review.
