REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- An internal balcony collapsed at Tower II of Indonesia's stock exchange in Jakarta on Monday. It crashed into the the lobby, injuring at least 77 people. "There was no bomb explosion on the site," spokesperson of Jakarta Metro Police, Setyo Wasisto said in Jakarta, on Monday.
Setyo said, the balcony collapsed at around 12:20 pm. Officers were still investigating the cause of incident. Most of the victims are students of Bina Darma Palembang, South Sumatra, who were having study tour at BEI.

Jakarta governor Anies Baswedan said all of the victims have been transferred to six hospitals. He planned to visit the accident site in the afternoon. "They were evacuated among others to Pertamina hospital, Siloam Semanggi hospital, Mintoharjo navy hospital, and Tarakan district general hospital," he said.
Farida Diyadi from BEI building management felt sorry for the incident. "The floor fell instantly. We did not know the cause yet," she said.

A witness, Enggar (50 years old) said, he was on 12th floor when he heard the alarm. He thought it was a fire drill. "The lights went out and the alarm was on. I thought it was a fire drill," he remarked.
Head of Business Development Siloam Hospital in Semanggi, Jakarta, Triana Tambunan said several victims who suffered minor injuries already allowed to go home. She said there are 30 people evacuated to the hospital because the incident.
