REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MALANG -- A member of the Presidential Advisory Board KH Hasyim Muzadi died on Thursday morning in his residence in the complex of Pondok Pesantren (Islamic Boarding School) of Al Hikam in Malang. The body has been flown to Jakarta by Hercules aircraft to be buried at Al Hikam Depok, West Java on Thursday (March 16) afternoon.
Secretary of State Pratikno led the hand over ceremony of the body of KH Hasyim from the family to the government at the Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta ar around 15.00 pm. The funeral prayer to be conducted later at Al Hikam Mosque.
KH Hasyim Muzadi, born on 8 August, 1944. He died after intensive treatment at the Lavalette hospital and in his house in Malang , East Java, over the past several days. Hasyim Muzadi was former chairman of Nahdlatul Ulama, the country's largest Islamic organization.
