REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The results of Indonesia's gold medal winning at SEA Games 2025 Thailand are daily experiencing a significant improvement. Until Monday (15/12/2025) night, Indonesia was still firmly in the second place with a medal count of 52 gold, 65 silver, 68 bronze.
This achievement was appreciated by Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (Menpora) Erick Thohir. According to him, the athletes to date have already given excellent results with gold medal achievements.
Throughout Monday night, the Red-White contingent managed to donate 9 gold medals out of a daily target of 7 gold medals. What is special, a world record was created by Letda TNI lifter Rizki Juniansyah with a clean & jerk force of 205 kg in the men's 79 kg class.
Despite already showing a positive trend in gold, Menpora Erick called on all teams and athletes to stay focused at each game and not be bothered with winning medals until now.
“I hope it's not the next four days until we're not focused. Until the closing point I ask that we have to focus, concentration, all cabors and athletes keep giving their best,” Erick said.
Erick judged that, if you look at the count from cabor, there is still a potential 68 gold medals. These opportunities must be maximized. Moreover, there is still a cabor-cabor predicted to be a medal granary.
“Don't look at the numbers and rankings today, especially from the team's own count there is still a potential 68 gold medals. Even if we get half of it, it means that it is already at 80 or above 80,” Erick said.
“I hope all cabors really don't catch their guard until December 19th. We proved that we are worthy in the position today,” he said.
