REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed Khalid Zeed Abdullah Basalamah (KB) was examined in his capacity as the boss of PT Zahra Oto Mandiri (Uhud Tour). This examination concerns a case of alleged corruption of additional hajj quotas in the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Ministry of Religious Affairs).
This dismissed claims of Khalid as feeling like a victim in the case of Hajj quotas. Khalid had claimed to be examined as a pilgrim or guide of Hajj worshippers by the KPK in that case.
“The witness examination of KB's (Khalid Basalamah), that is, is steeped in his knowledge that the person concerned is the owner of the hajj travel agency (Uhud),” KPK Spokesman Budi Prasetyo told reporters on Tuesday (16/9/2025).
However, the KPK confirmed Khalid was still a witness in the Hajj quota case. While investigating Khalid, the KPK dug in on how to obtain additional Hajj quotas.
“Immersed by investigators related to his knowledge of how to obtain additional quotas, how to conduct Hajj worship in the field,” Budi said.
However, the KPK is still keeping secret what details Khalid gave. The KPK said Khalid's testimony helped shed light on the matter.
“In the examination, investigators were helped by information and information provided by KB's brother witnesses,” Budi said.
